Colorectal cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States and is highly treatable if detected early.

Colorectal Cancer Risk Factors

  • 50 years of age and older
  • History of Polyps
  • Family History of Colon Cancer
  • Presence of Blood in the Stool

CT Virtual Colonoscopy is a 15-30 minute cancer screening exam performed on a CT scanner and provides a high resolution 3D image of the inner lining of the colon and rectum.

Virtual Colonoscopy is used to identify abnormalities in the lower digestive tract, screen for colon cancer and polyps. Virtual Colonoscopy is less invasive than Conventional Colonoscopy and because no sedation is required, you can resume normal activities after your procedure is complete.

The American Cancer Society recommends starting regular colorectal screenings at age 50 in both men and women who DO NOT have a family history of colon cancer or other high risk factors. They advise regular screenings every 5 years.
