Dr. Karolyn Kerr is Medical Director of Lenox Hill Radiology’s PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine program. Since joining LHR in 2017, Dr. Kerr has assisted in updating and expanding the access points for our PET/CT program into the region’s most expansive and impressive offering.
Previous to Lenox Hill Radiology, Dr. Kerr served as the principal and director of one of the New York Metro region’s most reputable and unique PET/CT practices, RDI, formerly known as Medscan. Dr. Kerr and colleagues are proud to open Lenox Hill Radiology’s brand-new Center for Oncologic & Molecular Imaging. This first in-class imaging center serves as the region’s most-comprehensive suite of PET/CT, Nuclear Medicine, Prostate Biopsy, Breast Biopsy, Thyroid and interventional radiology services, unmatched in a private practice setting.
After receiving both her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts Degrees from the University of Virginia, Dr. Kerr Earned her M.D. from Boston University School of Medicine. As the former director of PET/CT imaging at New York’s prestigious Beth Israel Medical Center, Dr. Kerr was acknowledged as one of the regions premier molecular imaging subspecialists.
She then completed an internal medicine internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York as well as a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Kerr is double board-certified in diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine, and a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society and the New York Roentgen Society. She has written and co-published numerous journal articles focusing on all areas of PET/CT and has lectured across the region.
