I love being a breast radiologist at Murray Hill Radiology. Although it is intense work, it is extremely gratifying knowing that what I do makes a difference in the lives of women. At the time of their visit each patient receives a clinical breast examination and the immediate results of their mammogram. It’s always a great pleasure witnessing the look of pure joy and relief come across the patient’s face when I can confirm their mammogram is normal. I never tire of it.
I have a particular interest in breast ultrasound. It is a powerful tool which supplements the mammogram in screening women with dense breasts, targeting suspicious findings on the mammogram and evaluating lumps. It uses no radiation, requires no intravenous injection and is quick, comfortable and safe. Abnormalities seen on the ultrasound can be efficiently and painlessly biopsied with a needle on that same day. While I am doing the sonogram, I have the opportunity to more fully connect with my patients. I can put them at ease, allay fears and answer questions. I enjoy getting to know them better and learning about their families and interests.
I think that Murray Hill Radiology is a very special place. We understand that having a mammogram is inherently stressful and anxiety-producing and are ever mindful of providing our patients with a sense of comfort and well-being. We strive for the highest quality in breast healthcare and we make patient satisfaction a priority.
