Community Radiology Associates (CRA) provides a full spectrum of state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services in a caring and comfortable environment. We were early adopters of digital imaging, reflecting our long-standing dedication to advanced technology.

Our 20 imaging centers provide service in Prince Georges, Frederick, Montgomery and Caroll counties, with a full range of imaging that includes open and high field MRI, CT, PET/CT, Digital & 3D Mammography, DEXA | Bone Density, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy and Digital X-ray.

CRA is also known for our customer service. We are able to provide appointments that fit virtually any schedule and accommodate urgent cases. Our report turn-around time is second to none and our radiologists pride themselves on being available for all referring physicians. Our PACS (picture archiving and communication system) enables our radiologists to consult with any physician, anywhere, about any case. In addition, referring physicians can view their patients’ studies from their computers through our web portal at www.myCommunityPatients.com.

All of our physicians are board certified and skilled in various radiologic subspecialties. Our technologists are certified and registered in their areas of specialty and all of our facilities are fully accredited by the American College of Radiology and RadSite.

Our History

In 1980, Dr. Sid Pion and the late Dr. Jack Korsower founded Community Radiology in Olney, Maryland. The practice soon expanded with offices in Bethesda, Germantown and Silver Spring, Maryland. In 1988, Community Radiology partnered with MedStar Montgomery Medical Center (formerly Montgomery General Hospital) to open Montgomery Community Magnetic Imaging Center (MCMIC). Over time, Community Radiology has grown to encompass 18 centers in four counties.

Today, CRA is partnered with RadNet, Inc., a national leader in diagnostic imaging. With this partnership, Community Radiology is affiliated with more than 390 centers in California, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Florida. For more information about RadNet, Inc., click here.
