Dr. Sidney J. Pion is a board-certified radiologist in diagnostic radiology with a special interest in nuclear medicine. He earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Bronx, NY) and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center.
In 1980, Dr. Pion helped to co-found Community Radiology Associates (CRA) in Olney, Maryland, with the late Dr. Jack Korsower.
Dr. Pion first became fascinated with radiology late during his tenure in medical school.
“I thought I was going to go into gastroenterology or cardiology, but I liked the puzzle and visual aspects of radiology,” recalls Dr. Pion. “It’s nice to see patients and basically try to figure out what’s going on with patients in particular studies. I like the intellectual challenge of it.”
When he’s not working, Dr. Pion enjoys biking, kayaking, reading and photography.
