Dr. R. Joseph Raffa is a board-certified radiologist in diagnostic radiology with a special interest in body imaging. He earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida (Tampa) and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Florida (Gainesville). Dr. Raffa is an active member of the Florida Radiological Society, the Radiological Society of North America and American College of Radiology.
Over the years, Dr. Raffa’s dedication to Radiology Imaging Associates (RIA) is evident through the different capacities in which he has served. In 1983, Dr. Raffa was a founding member and he currently holds three roles for the organization. He is the group’s President, an active board member and the Medical Director of the Port St. Lucie imaging center.
Dr. Raffa is formerly affiliated with Lawnwood Regional Medical Center of Fort Pierce, St. Lucie Medical Center of Port St. Lucie and Raulerson Hospital of Okeechobee, Florida as an active member. He is the past Chairman of Radiology, Chairman of Credentials, Medical Executive Committee Member and hospital Board of Director Member.
When not working in radiology, Dr. Raffa is active in different facets of the community. He supports many local and national charitable organizations including the American Cancer Society, United Way of St. Lucie County/Fred T. Johnson Society, Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce. In the past, he served as a Board Member for Barnett-Nations Bank (now Bank of America).
