eRAD Announces the Release of Version 7.0 Featuring Image Sharing Capabilities

history_eradGREENVILLE, S.C., Nov. 30, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- eRAD, a division of RadNet, Inc. (Nasdaq:RDNT - News), an industry leader in Web-based RIS, PACS and Teleradiology solutions, announces the release of Version 7.0 of its Software Platform featuring cross enterprise online image sharing capabilities. eRAD will be demonstrating the many new features available in version 7.0 at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) meeting November 28th through December 2nd 2010 in Chicago.

Marking its eleventh year exhibiting at RSNA, eRAD will introduce the next version of its Web-based radiology workflow management software solution that will offer the industry several innovative new features to manage and consolidate information from multiple disparate locations. Challenging market conditions in the delivery of radiology services is accelerating the need for radiologists to connect to medical providers, institutions and patients receiving care from different locations. The basic requirement of anywhere/anytime remote access to data has been a hallmark of eRAD making it popular with Teleradiology Service Providers (often referred to as Nighthawk and Dayhawk providers) and community reading groups both of which have the need to consolidate information from multiple disparate data sources (HIS, RIS, EMR, PACS and imaging modalities). eRAD now offers the ability to securely upload images from any PC connected to the Internet without need for a dedicated gateway or Virtual Private Network (VPN). This enables clinicians, patients and or researchers to easily upload images securely and make them available for viewing or transfer into another system from virtually any computer connected to the Internet. Not only can the images be uploaded securely but scanned documents and electronic medical records can also be added to the patient file.

eRAD's hosted cloud based service is used by teleradiology service providers, community and academic based reading groups worldwide and is projected to process over one million studies this year. Other key features of the version 7.0 release include integrated Autofaxing, batch study assignment tools, enhanced enterprise reporting and accounting capabilities for billing. Visit eRAD at www.erad.com or visit Booth #1600, McCormick Place during RSNA to schedule a demonstration.
